Evening world. Well I wrote to the man from New York - the one who found the girl of his dreams. Not a peep out of him. But hey maybe that's a good thing - he might be too busy to check his emails...

I'm gonna have to cut this short... Sorry I know you're desperate to know how my last few days have been but I'm off down the pub with some mates - so come back another time, we'll talk then!

A little more chilled

Good evening! I'm a little more chilled now that the kitchen is sorted! I might make more sense today - well lets hope!

So I went to go and see how I'm doing in the Google search rankings and the answer to that is.... Not very well!!! But I did discover that this idea isn't completely original! A guy found his one true love in New York through this site: www.nygirlofmydreams.com - the difference being that he'd already seen the girl of his dreams and knew what country she was in! Makes it easier dude... I'm going to email him though see if he has any tips for a "girl of my dreams" novice.

So there we go... If a guy in New York can find the girl of his dreams then so can I!

I'm getting flooded!

No literally I am. Such is my dedication to this quest that even as my house sinks I'm still writing to you girls. Well in reality I have a leaky tap and I'm waiting for a plumber. I have learnt that although I'm VERY GOOD WITH MY HANDS plumbing is the one thing that's better left to men of the trade.

So its the weekend. I'm not famous yet (or rather my blog isn't famous yet) but I can live with that - small things (like acorns) are what big things grow from (like oak trees). I'm sure there is a saying in there somewhere... I have a goddaughter and she turns three soon so I'm off visiting armed with presents. What are you up to? Anything that I should know about???

Anyways - I sound to me like I sound mildly hysterical to you, dear reader. So I think its best I go... I'll be back soon assuming I'm all plumbed back in of course...

So now I know...

What I didn't realise was that if you change the settings then Blogger will automatically get Google to search your site and inform the web blog people that you're site has a new post!

So now all that's activated there'll be fame tomorrow I guess!

Another look at the advert

I've just taken another look at the advert (not having seen it for a while) and I think it's looking quite good. Very happy with it until the part about having the nerve and the curves. It's a little lame at that point. So I'm going to have to change it - again...

I'm going to go a little more direct and a little less cheese... If I like how it reads in a few more weeks - then that will be my ad! CAST in stone! (I knew that these things might be a little changeable to start with - I did think that I could rely on you people out there to help me.... It's ok don't feel guilty I realise this is one advert I have to do on my own)

Ah its just a Wednesday.

I was talking to a girl earlier today who is going out on a date with someone who poked her randomly on facebook. She doesn't know him, her friends don't know him, 'but he sounds alright on the phone'... Fantastic - good luck to her!

So have I gone randomly poking loads of women on facebook? It's an idea! But no - to be honest I hardly ever use the thing. I do have an account but its just another thing that needs to be managed isn't it. I really can't be that bothered - I am a modern man really just not quite seeing the point of social networking just yet... Is it so that your friends can get in touch with you and see what you're up to? I think most of them know how to get in touch with me if they need! So sorry facebook - if you could help me in my quest to find 'that girl' without having to poke everyone in the world I'd be there and not here!

But you can't.

(Though maybe I should just go poke a couple eh? See what happens? What do you think???)

Getting it just so

Well I feel that things are begining to move slowly now! The site is slowly getting out there but there's so much to do! Are the tags right, does it look nice, is the advert right?!?

Well I guess I'll find out soon enough as the millions of bloggers pour in... Don't forget to read the advert though everyone please! And leave a comment - and if you're a lady, and you're single, why not drop me a line?

Getting it out there

I'm finally, this evening, implementing some of those popular blog points that I raised a week ago. I know - don't take this as me being lazy - just to many projects on the go at one time! When the blog is popular then I'll find it easier to make the effort!

Well my big surprise didn't really work out. I sent emails to all the local newspapers (we have quite a few free circulation papers round these parts) - seems they're not so short of news after all... Not one of them reported about Oneman! Felt sure they'd be desperate for special valentines edition news!

Ah well maybe next year...

Starting to create a popular blog

Ok. I went to the first relevant thing I found in my google search 'make a popular blog' and it led me to this site! So here's what they recommend...

1. Content - lots of it and regular. Well I'm not sure if there's lots of content but I'm averaging two or three posts a week. I'll make it four from now on. Promise.
2. Submit your blog to blog directories. Like the following: www.desiblogs.org, www.blogrankings.com, www.blogstreet.com, www.technorati.com, www.bloghub.com, www.blogcatalog.com, www.blogwise.com, www.globeofblogs.com, www.blograma.com,
www.blogtop.com, www.mapstats.com, www.blogscanada.com. Ok I'll get on it and get joined!
3. Tell you're friends and family. I have! They don't believe, mostly, you can find love on the interenet. The rest just wish they'd done it themselves!
4. Mention your blog on visiting cards. Done that too! When I'm out I'll drop them - though I do find it quite embarassing! I'm sure I wont when I'm world wide web famous though.
5. Make posts easy to read. Ok... I'll need to think about that one.
6. Give the name of your blog in the main URL. Erm I think I've done that?
7. Give comments to other blogs and leave you're link there. Sneaky... I love it. I'll do it.
8. Use clear simple language. I can do that...!
9. Have patience. :(

Ok. Some lessons to be learnt! I need to get out there on the net and start dumping comments on other peoples sites and all these blog directories! And I need to post more regularly.... Sigh!

What are my interests?

Evening! Well as I said I received my first mail the other day. Amongst the questions posed was "So Oneman, what are your interests? I presume you have some?". So I thought as I'm telling her I may as well tell everyone! Of course I do...

Just some of my interests:

Sports: Watching and partaking. Pretty much any sports really. Even watched the bowls on the tv the other day...
Photography: I like to think of myself as a digital artist. But I guess I'm probably not that good lol!
Films: Who doesn't like stretching out on the sofa to a good movie? An example of a good movie? Godfather naturally.
Music: I have very broad tastes... Though I would put Jazz, Classical, Rock up there...

Valentines Day
